FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOVA SCOTIA'S COBEQUID PASS NOW OPEN:"IT'S A JOY TO DRIVE."==== begin quote :Canadian Highways International Corporation's latest successful project, the 45km Cobequid Pass toll highway in Nova Scotia, opened on November 15 with a free-use period until tolling begins on December 1. "Cobequid Pass is so smooth it feels like you are driving on a cushion of air," writes the Halifax Chronicle-Herald. "It is a joy to drive." Cobequid Pass is a milestone in the growing trend towards privately financed public-private partnerships to develop infrastructure, says John Beck, President of Canadian Highways International Corporation. As a result of the public-private partnership approach, Cobequid Pass was built more quickly, less expensively and with less risk to the public, Beck noted.
